We're back at the Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester, Va to talk with filmmaker David Palamaro about his film "Murder Made Easy." Birthing a movie is one thing; selling a movie is something altogether different. This week we're focusing on the challenges and joys of touring your film across the globe, and to help provide context to the festival circuit, we're joined by professional movie consumer Jay Kay of HorrorHound and Dread Central fame. This candid conversation pulls the veil back on the industry and reveals the tremendous amount of passion that both Palamaro and Kay bring to their art.

Thursday Jun 06, 2019
This week we're back at the Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester, Va talking to documentarian Cameron Yates about his film "Chef Flynn." What drives a ten-year-old child to transform his mother's kitchen into a must-visit culinary destination? That's where Yates' film begins, but it most certainly does not end there. Devoting years of his life to the meteoric rise of Flynn McGarry, Yates delves deep into the determination required to achieve gastronomic greatness as well as the necessary support system. "Chef Flynn" is a compelling watch for anyone curious about the nature of prodigies, but if you're a foodie as well, then you'll devour this documentary.

Our little Trekkie hearts are bursting over this episode that sees "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" showrunner Ira Steven Behr drop by The Dork Cave to discuss his new documentary "What We Left Behind: Looking Back at Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." This is an incredibly honest conversation in which Behr discusses the bizarre experience of returning to a series that he said goodbye to twenty years ago, and finally coming to terms with the legacy and the fans/critics of DS9. The film will have its European theatrical release starting on June 26th before becoming available in North America via Shout Factory on August 6th.

ChatCast 17 - Erik Nelson on 'The Cold Blue'
Friday May 24, 2019
Friday May 24, 2019
Our second conversation of the week is with documentarian Erik Nelson about his fabulous new film "The Cold Blue." Nelson restores and assembles footage from William Wyler's WWII doc "Memphis Belle" so that he can tell the larger story surrounding the Mighty Eighth Air Force. The film acts as a tribute to both the pilots in the air as well as Wyler's band of cinematographers that risked their life (and in Howard J. Tannenbaum's case, lost his life) to capture this stunning footage. "The Cold Blue" premieres June 6th at 8:00 PM on HBO.

ChatCast 16 - Scott Adkins on 'Avengement'
Tuesday May 21, 2019
Tuesday May 21, 2019
"He's out on bad behavior." Wow. We're still mystified by this one folks. Scott Adkins, the reigning champ of independent action cinema joins Brad to discuss his absolutely brutal and utterly fabulous new film "Avengement." Our host can barely contain his excitement and undoubtedly makes a fool of himself as he launches into full fanboy mode around the man who made ITMOD approved masterpieces like "Ninja II," "Savage Dog," and "Boyka: Undisputed." The two discuss what drives Adkins to crank out one film after another, the current demand for empathy within violent melees like "Avengement" and "John Wick: Chapter 3," and yeah - Adkins answers the question of who would dominate in the prison yard ring, Boyka or Cain. The answer may surprise you.

Wednesday May 15, 2019
The time has come. We must say goodbye to our Chattanooga Film Festival series, but don't worry, we're ending our run on an incredibly lively conversation with filmmaker Rob Grant. We're talking his new violently, bloody, and gruesome (comedy?) thriller, "Harpoon." We saw a lot of wonderful movies at this year's Chattanooga Film Festival, but Rob's film was certainly our favorite. In this conversation, we dig into the challenges he faced trapping his actors on the water and his desire to tell stories outside the usual Hollywood realm. And yes, it wouldn't be a Chattanooga chat without the aid of Chattanooga Whisky. We get a little loosey-goosey on this one folks. Prepare yourself.
