Comic Book Legend Stephen R. Bissette joins us in the Dork Cave to discuss his new critical analysis of David Cronenberg's "The Brood." Yeah, you read that right. The artist who radically altered the landscape of comics alongside Alan Moore and John Totleben with "The Saga of the Swamp Thing" has just cranked out a nearly 700-page book on David Cronenberg's gnarliest confrontation on the pains of divorce and child abuse. Bissette brings a tremendous amount of insight as well as a deeply personal passion for his celebration of the 1979 cult classic.
From P.S. Publishing, Bissette's gargantuan analysis of the film spins out of their Midnight Movie Monograph series edited by Neal Snowden. In a universe where Tweets tend to represent the heights of criticism, P.S. Publishing demands a much more considered conversation on significant works of horror cinema.
Be sure to follow the podcast on Instagram and Twitter @ITMODCast, and you can follow the hosts @MouthDork & @sidewalksiren. Next week, you can listen to some serious Swamp Thing convo with Bissette over at the Comic Book Couples Counseling podcast.
